Advanced Health & Wellness would like to thank everyone that attended our Grand Opening on November 18th, 2013. We had a great turn out and supported a great cause in the process. There was a silent auction with some great prizes that generated just under $1000 for the Canadian Cancer Society. We would like to thank all the local Peterborough businesses that donated a prize.
The day included many successful events; our massage therapists were on site performing complimentary sample massages. Drs. Bolton and Gleeson were performing gait assessments and answering any questions with regards to chiropractic care. Brad Self from the Peterborough Lakers was on site to sign autographs, meet fans and provide information about his local camps for kids (Nationwide Lacrosse). Leo the Lion, the Peterborough Lakers mascot was also present for picture taking with the kids. Children were also able to enjoy the “Kids Zone” which included prizes and face painting among other activities.
We’d like to thank our Peterborough Liberal Member of Provincial Parliament, Jeff Leal, for performing the ribbon cutting ceremony and for presenting us with a certificate of acknowledgement.
Again, we’d like to thank all the people that attended and all those that donated to a worthy cause. We look forward to seeing you at our open house next year!
The Advanced Health & Wellness Team
On May 18th the Advanced Health & Wellness team volunteered their time with participants from Runner’s Life at St. Peter’s high school track in Peterborough. Our team provided chiropractic care and registered massage therapy services to the runners. Runners benefited from stretches, adjustments, soft tissue therapies and exercise prescription to improve performance and prevent injury. Athletes also benefited from post-race care to enhance recovery. Our team had a great day and enjoyed helping the Peterborough community stay active!
2XU Open Water Swim
On June 2nd, the Advanced Health & Wellness team provided Chiropractic care and Registered Massage Therapy to the participants in the open water swim at Sandy Beach in Buckhorn. Our team was glad to be able to help the participants, many of which had neck and shoulder complaints from their activity level. Our team was able to allow the participants to compete at their best while reducing the risk of injury and shortening their recovery time. Rehab exercises for the neck and shoulders were an integral part of care. It’s important to stay active and do the things we love, however we must also reduce the stress it puts on our bodies through proper care and education!
Chemong Lake Triathlon
Advanced Health & Wellness was happy to sponsor the triathlon that took place August 11th at Chemong Lake. The team also showed up to provide on-site Chiropractic and Registered Massage Therapy for the athletes. Our team provided pre competition care to prevent injury and allow athletes to perform at their best, as well as post competition care to treat injuries sustained during the race and reduce recovery time. Triathlons take their toll on our bodies, which lead to long line-ups at our treatment tent post-race, but our team was happy to help!
